Body art practitioner registration

Temporary licence

At a body art event each practitioner needs a Temporary Body Art Booth Permit; the practitioner registration for a temporary booth is $54 per event.

Guest artists

A current registration from another California jurisdiction is valid in Los Angeles County for no more than 5 consecutive days, or 15 days total, in a calendar year; beyond that, register with Los Angeles County.

Fees

$54 registration or renewal fee (Los Angeles County form rev. 3/2025; FY 2026–2027 County fee schedule).

FY 2026–2027 County fee schedule: body art facility $423 (1–3 practitioners) or $440 (4+ practitioners); mobile body art facility $423 / $440; plan check for a tattooing, piercing and branding facility $568.
